Many people who love plants or wish to grow vegetables feel inhibited because they believe they are unable to garden. This absorbing book changes that. It will give readers the confidence to tackle their gardens without fear of being unproductive. This book is excellent because it provides basic information that any eager novice can learn from to grow their own vegetables. Hughes presented invaluable advice from firsthand experience. Hughes covered everything that the beginner gardener might need. Topics range from recommendations for first-time gardeners to supplies and the type of gardener you might be.

People who wish to learn can assess the options and apply the information in this book. The section on hydroponic gardening will be useful to anyone with limited space. The section where she describes common garden pests and garden woes was exceptionally well done.
