Storma’s Unexpected Adventure is a children’s picture book by Gina Bayar. Storma the unicorn lived with her family in an enchanted forest. Each unicorn had a special magical power. Whenever Sorma wanted to go somewhere, she would close her eyes, imagine the places she wanted to go, and her wish would come true. Storma was curious to see how the ocean and sandy beach looked, so she closed her eyes. When Storma opened them, she was in the Gobi Desert. All she could see was sand. A camel named Polka, who had never seen a unicorn, was puzzled when Storma asked her where the ocean was. Polka had never heard of an ocean, but they decided to find it. Storma saw fascinating sights like singing sand, the oasis, and learned about other animals that lived in the hot desert while searching for the ocean.

Gina Bayar’s children’s picture book, Storma’s Unexpected Adventure, is a lovely story about a curious unicorn who likes exploring new places. Stoma’s new friends from the Gobi Desert were just as adorable as she was. Gina Bayar, also the illustrator, is a descendant of nomads from the Gobi Desert. She created her picture book to be adventurous and educational by using her favorite mythical creature, the unicorn, to show the wonderful beauty of the Gobi Desert. Children will learn without realizing it’s a history and geography lesson. Storma’s Unexpected Adventure will be great for the library, classroom, or home and will take children on exciting adventures through reading.
