Kaley is looking forward to a fun weekend getaway with some of her church friends. Her ex-boyfriend Reef is part of the group, but they can still enjoy the ski slopes. The last thing she expected to happen was to suddenly find herself wanted for a crime she didn't commit and on the run from the mob. Take My Hand by Kristen Hogrefe Pernell is sure to please readers with thrilling twists, fast-paced action, and heartwarming moments. This is the first in a new romantic series, Crossroads Suspense. We read Kaley & Reef's story and meet some of their friends.
Take My Hand by Kristen Hogrefe Pernell has a little of everything I look for in a romantic suspense read, and I loved it. With exciting action, likable characters, and tender moments, the story does a great job of balancing the suspense elements with the developing romance. Take My Hand also has a small-town feel that complements the Tampa setting in the rest of the story, allowing Reef the scope to exhibit his outdoor nature. Kaley is also gifted, with a caring nature that serves her well as a therapist and her talent for planning. I enjoyed seeing her grow and begin to understand that being different is sometimes a good thing; it is interesting to see her try new things, and I was impressed with how creative she proves to be in the story. I also loved seeing some of their friends and look forward to more of their stories in the future.
