Tamara King is a new adult romance novel by Emily Wright. Sam Atlas has it all; a loving family and a close-knit group of friends to spend her evenings with. The only thing lacking in her life is romance. But that all changes when one of her closest friends, Tom, sets her up on a blind date with his cousin, Tamara King. Stood up on her first date, Sam runs into Tamara again, which leads to the beginning of a relationship. Falling head over heels for her, Sam is devastated to discover that Tamara had been cozying up with an old friend. After a couple of rebounds, she isn't sure how to feel when Sam receives the invitation to Tamara's wedding with another woman. Meanwhile, Sam starts seeing someone who might just be the one.

Full of heart and humor, Tamara King is a charming romantic comedy that is well worth spending your evening with. Author Emily Wright tells an engaging tale of a young woman who undergoes her first love experience, while navigating rebounds, friends, family, and more. This is a character-driven story, and Sam's relationships with her friends, family, and lovers are the prime focus of the narrative. Despite their tumultuous relationship, Sam grows a lot during her time with Tamara and, in the process, becomes a far more rounded individual with self-belief and confidence. I particularly enjoyed the scenes involving Sam and her friends -- the humor and camaraderie they share felt very relatable. Recommended to LGBTQ romance lovers.
