The Doll House Brides: Soleil is a fantasy romance novella by S.M. Webb. Soleil and her sisters grew up in the Northern Nymph Lands, raised by their adopted father, Cherub, a wizard. Cherub arranged marriages for his daughters. One of them is Soleil, who married Prince Kai of the Snow Fae Lands. But after Cherub's untimely death, Soleil discovers that she has an annulment option in the marriage contract. Kai abandoned Soleil on their wedding night, which prompted Soleil to question whether she and Kai even have a future together. Kai and Soleil visit her childhood home, and soon, their relationship takes a new turn. Kai, who felt forced into an arranged marriage he didn't want, now looks at Soleil in a completely new light. What will happen to Kai and Soleil?

Using a fantasy setting, S.M. Webb has crafted a captivating romantic comedy full of heart and charm with The Doll House Brides: Soleil. This book has fantastic worldbuilding. I loved the descriptions of the faes, nymphs, and their pets. You can't help but feel a sense of whimsy when Webb is describing either one of the Snow Fae Lands or the Northern Lymph Lands. It's a fast-paced story packed with romance and drama. But it's the characters who really win your heart. The interactions between Soleil and her sisters were always entertaining. I also liked how Prince Kai slowly began to grow into his feelings about Soleil. I think romance readers will love the dynamic between Kai and Soleil. All in all, it's an absorbing fantasy rom-com novella. I really enjoyed it, and so should you.

The Doll House Brides: Soleil by S.M. Webb follows the romance between Soleil, a nymph princess with golden skin, and Prince Kai, the young ruler of Icelyn, a snowy fae land. The pair has an arranged marriage. Kai’s hand was forced, and he presumed Soleil was just a spoiled girl he would have to live with. Meanwhile, Soleil is calm and always keeps things to herself. She hopes for a happy marriage with Kai, whom she has had a crush on for a long time. When Kai leaves her alone immediately after their wedding, Soleil regrets her marriage and starts to plan an annulment. Unbeknownst to her, Kai had an immediate liking for her the moment he saw her and did not know how to express his feelings. Kai and Soleil finally begin to confront their feelings for each other when they attend the funeral of Ivan Cherub, a powerful wizard and Soleil’s adoptive father.

The Doll House Brides is a fantasy drama set in a world inhabited by nymphs who wield magic and fae who can fly. The series is mainly centered around Ivan Cherub’s adopted daughters, whom he raised in the Doll House, a beautiful estate that runs on magic and holds his many secrets. Soleil and her sisters are all fascinating because they have unique celestial, floral, and gemstone features that come from their transformations. S.M. Webb’s narration is not rushed but is also intriguing. The book immediately grabs your attention and slowly draws you into its mythical world. It does the same with Soleil and Kai’s love story, giving little glimpses of their feelings for each other and making you root for them. It is also suspenseful as the annulment is a ticking time bomb that could happen. I really enjoyed the progress of their relationship because it was mature. This is a wonderful read and a must-have for anyone who likes fantasy romance novels about love that grows from unexpected circumstances.

The Doll House Brides by S.M. Webb is a remarkable light-pitched romantic fantasy. Humanity destroyed itself, and the Earth is now inhabited by faes and nymphs whose whimsical lands run entirely on spells. Stunning and forthright, twenty-five-year-old Soleil is one of the six adopted daughters of the genius magician nymph Ivan Cherub. Cherub had arranged a lucrative betrothal contract for Soleil before he died in a boat accident. But Soleil’s arranged marriage is off to a rocky start. Consumed by disdain for his forced marriage, her betrothed husband, Prince Kai of Icelyn, left her alone on their wedding night for an indeterminate time. Divorce is rare among faes and nymphs. Soleil discovers that annulment is a circumstantial option. But is her marriage worth salvaging? And would Soleil and Kai want to salvage it?

The Doll House Brides by S.M. Webb is an enchanting fantasy packed with wisdom. I liked how the magical elements - letters sent by hawks, nymphs and fae, out-of-body experiences, and charming pets – blended with the more serious theme of separation in an arranged marriage and made me privy to the thoughts and feelings of the betrothed couple. I thoroughly enjoyed reading every scene, wondering what I would do in Soleil’s place. Prince Kai’s gallantry, jealousy, and impulsiveness kept me fluctuating between the tongue-in-cheek, high-horse resentment and condescending forgiveness. But Blaze, Soleil’s kit pet, was the total package and the ultimate show-stealer! If you like escaping for a while to magical, whimsical worlds where fantasy meets light romance, this is one of the loveliest novellas I highly recommend reading.

In The Doll House Brides: Soleil by S.M. Webb, we’re introduced to a world where humans are ancient history and magic has split everyone into Fae or Nymphs. Soleil is a celestial nymph with shimmering golden skin who spent her life being groomed for a high-society marriage, only for her husband, Prince Kai, to treat their new union like a chore he’d rather avoid. Just as she’s settling into a lonely life as a royal, her guardian, Cherub, passes away, leaving behind a series of mysteries and a sudden legal loophole for an annulment of her marriage to Kai. Soleil decides to head home to the Northern Nymph Lands for the funeral, but Kai intercepts her, insisting on acting the part of the protective spouse. Now, trapped in a carriage and a pink Victorian mansion together, they must navigate their mutual resentment. But as they peel back the many layers of their arranged marriage, their feelings change from obligation to genuine attraction. Is their marriage really doomed, or will Soleil's bid for freedom end in a surprise change of heart?

In The Doll House Brides: Soleil, S.M. Webb delivers a compelling fantasy romance that feels like a cross between a fairytale and a Regency drama. The setting in the book is vivid; I could practically smell the herbal tea and fresh wildflowers as I read. The pacing keeps the plot moving along very nicely without causing the story to lag. The author does a great job of showing, not just telling, Kai’s internal shift from being an arrogant, distant husband to someone genuinely intrigued by his wife’s intellect and past. I often found myself rooting for the other sisters—Phire, Emmie, Rosette, and Daisy—just as much as for the main couple. Sometimes, their unique magical connection felt like a convenient plot device, but it added a unique flavor to the family dynamics. I recommend this story to anyone who loves a good slow-burn romance with high-fantasy world-building and very distinct, magically empowered female characters.

S.M. Webb’s The Doll House Brides is set in a post-human world. Two beings rule the lands: the nymphs, wielding magic, and the fae, capable of flight. A mysterious wizard named Ivan Cherub adopts three pairs of nymph twins, making them extraordinarily beautiful and unique with his powers. Years later, Cherub passes away, and the sisters learn something important about their guardian. This fact is especially important to Soleil, who married Prince Kai in the Snow Fae Lands, expecting a happy marriage. Instead, Kai has ignored her, displeased with his father’s arrangements. Soleil returns to her hometown, thinking about using the information she’s learned to break off the marriage, but Kai unexpectedly tags along. Thus, Soleil and Kai embark on a personal journey to understand themselves and each other.

You won’t find an epic plot here, but there’s more than enough soul to make up for it. The romance is very grounded and well written, progressing naturally while fleshing out Soleil and Kai as characters. This is an idyllic world filled with wonders and divinity, but also just enough mysteries and secrets beneath the surface to keep things mystical. It makes me very interested in future stories exploring other characters and aspects of this world. Soleil and Kai are the main focus, but S.M. Webb pours a lot of love and care into each character. Whether it’s Stella’s enigmatic suitor or Emmie’s strong personality, every sister has something compelling about them. Overall, The Doll House Brides is a hearty snack that’s sure to satisfy your cozy fantasy and romance cravings.
