Tangled Like Music: More Than a Love Story by Patricia Steele is a romance that takes the reader on a journey and makes them realize that this is more than just a romance. This is, at times, a reflection of human psychology and sometimes it is an insight into the lives of people who are living on the edge and trying to discover their true self. With a story that is deeply woven into the lives of every character, the author does an amazing job at creating images and giving the reader something new on every page.
Set in a small town whose core is shaken by a series of burglaries, this is the story of a woman living her life away from the chaos of the world, but now she seems to be at the epicenter of it all. However, she is not the only one as there are far too many people who are shaken to the core by this chain of events. A journalist is trying to take his career to the next level by covering these robberies, but it’s not easy, especially when you consider the people who are affected by this. How can some robberies dislocate people from their reality and make them realize that the life they are living is just half of what they truly deserve?
What can I say? I was not expecting this novel to be as intriguing or nail biting as it is. With a story line that swiftly sucks the reader in, and very brilliantly developed characters, Patricia Steele did an awesome job of weaving a story that is at once romantic and thrilling at the same time. I enjoyed the little tidbits and the little insights into the lives of the characters that gave depth to the story and helped me connect with the characters on a deeper level. This is a simply amazing novel that you read on a rainy day or when you just want to get lost in the story and enter into a new world that is interesting and revealing at the same time.
