Tears of God by Steven F. Freeman is an excellent thriller about Cutter Wilson, who died fifteen years ago. Wilson was investigating Pasha Tech when he died of a heart attack. His daughter, FBI agent Mallory Blackwell, was approached by Max Creighton at her mother’s birthday party. Creighton worked with Mallory’s father at the time of his death and has proof that Wilson was killed. Creighton made an appointment with Mallory and her husband, Alton, to see them the following day. When he did not answer, they entered and found Max dead on the floor, poisoned. His last words were Farid Safi and Pasha Tech. Mallory now has the chance to investigate her father’s murder. Mallory and her husband are sent on a mission to Afghanistan to locate Pasha Tech. Alton and Mallory must determine what the company is up to.

Tears of God is an outstanding book with suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. There was so much action I felt I was part of the mission. The story was fast-paced and had me turning the pages, so captivated I could not put it down. I was surprised by all the twists and turns Steven F. Freeman planned and executed brilliantly throughout the plot. He took me to Afghanistan with his descriptive writing, where I learned more about its culture and surroundings. It was easy to visualize the surroundings and events. The characters were brilliant and strong. Every character had a specific skill that helped the team with the mission. The ending had an unexpected twist, and it was a real shocker.
