When Sam came home, he threw his things down at the door. When his brother Freddy invited him to play, he refused. After that, many disconcerting events occurred throughout the day. At dinner time, the family ate quietly. No one looked happy. In the morning when Sam woke up, he felt as if he was floating away and watched himself start the day. He tried to talk to the other Sam, and when he had no answer, he began to follow him. Sam finally understood that he was living the day that had just passed, but he was invisible to others. This helped him see how everyone had tried to improve the day and how he had missed many opportunities. Tell Me About School Today, Sweetheart portrays the events that can transpire on a bad day. Through this story, Nicholas Redmon advises children to be more perceptive and understand the feelings of others.

Tell Me About School Today, Sweetheart has a valuable moral. Sam’s negative attitude is something we can all adopt without realizing it. That’s why it’s good to be reminded that we should act appropriately. Feelings are easy to pass on if one person helps another with a smile, but if someone has a negative attitude, the people around them will also become dejected. Nicholas Redmon teaches psychology in high school and has created a book that reminds us to reflect on our actions. He shows us that learning from the past helps us to be better people in the present. I liked the story and I recommend this book to be read as a family.
