Hop on for an exciting adventure with a pair of fun-loving twins and their talking dogs in Axi Mok's The Adventure to the Ancient Iceberg. Axi and Brandon are ten-year-old twins with a love for adventurous quests. When the siblings receive a mysterious package from the Ancient Sky Council, seeking their help to return a magical scroll to the Ancient Iceberg, the twins realize their summer is going to be quite eventful. At midnight, the Sky Bus reaches their home, and Axi and Brandon, along with their talking dogs, Jake, Kimchi, and Bowie, embark on a thrilling quest to return the scroll to the Ancient Iceberg before the evil Yeti gets his hands on it. However, the siblings soon discover there is more to the Yeti than they had previously assumed.

Author Axi Mok has written a captivating tale for elementary school kids. Full of magic, mystery, and humor, The Adventure to the Ancient Iceberg will entertain all preteen fantasy adventure fans. Fast-paced and action-packed, there is not a single dull moment in the entire book. Mok's characters are lively and full of personality. Axi and Brandon are the main heroes of this story, but even the talking dogs are compelling and have distinct character voices. It's easy to root for this dynamic little group. I also loved their time in the small Penguin Village and the reveal of the Yeti's backstory toward the end. All in all, it's a must-read for young readers. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and you will too!

In The Adventure to the Ancient Iceberg by Axi Mok, Axi and Brandon live with their parents and Jared, who is their butler. They also have two dogs with unique capabilities, like talking to humans. One day their parents have to leave for work, and that is when weird things start to unfold. They get a letter and a huge box on their doorstep. Despite all their efforts, they are unable to open the box, so they decide to get something to eat as they strategize. As they get their breakfast, it starts snowing abruptly; they rush back to the house, and that’s when they realize the snow is connected to the box, which is now open. Axi enters the box and retrieves a magical scroll, which they are supposed to return to the Ancient Iceberg. How will things unfold?

The Adventure to the Ancient Iceberg by Axi Mok is wonderfully written with easy-to-understand language, which makes it accessible to all kinds of audiences. I loved the seamless flow of the plot, which leaves no room for confusion, and the vivid descriptions of events and places, which helped one to create a mental picture of what was happening. The characters were well-developed, and the narration was excellent, which added to the overall beauty of the work. The thought-provoking work also gets one thinking about the issue of climate change and its consequences. The reader will also appreciate the illustrations by Jay Goldman. This was a good read, and I look forward to reading something else by Axi Mok.
