The Adventures of Mari Lou:The Legend of the Dungeon Man is a cute children’s book by Rose St. Paul. Mari Lou’s mother had the family eating only healthy foods. Mari Lou’s father wanted to give them a special treat, but it had to be a secret. Samson and Cassandre agreed but had doubts about Mari Lou because she was a tattletale. She was offended by their remarks but wanted a treat so she promised not to tell. Everyone quickly ate the sweet treats they wanted at the store, including Roscoe, their dog, before returning home. They behaved normally when Mom got home until Mari Lou had a tummy ache. She got the family into trouble and even Dad was upset with her. Cassandre told Mari Lou that she had summoned the Dungeon Man who was going to lock her up in his dungeon for what she did. Mari Lou was terrified, especially when she saw him!
Can you keep secrets, or are you a tattletale? It would be difficult for me to stay away from sweets because I have a sweet tooth. Mari Lou’s family knew her well enough to know she is very talkative and can’t keep secrets. Award-winning author Rose St. Paul has written a lovely storybook that is fun and teaches children good lessons about keeping promises and secrets. The Adventures of Mari Lou: The Legend of the Dungeon Man includes an interesting kids' recipe, a Glossary, and Rules for Healthier Eating. The author’s website is also worth checking out.
