A world without bullies, a world without tough gangs ruling the streets - that would be an ideal world. Bryan seemed to think so, anyway. He had a dream of ridding the streets of the tough gangs that bullied everyone, and ridding his school of the bullies that terrorized the hallways. His dream wasn't too unrealistic, at least not for him. Bryan was strong - really strong and he was getting stronger by the day. When he saves a smart student, Jack, from the school bully, Dan, he's made a friend for life. The two become inseparable. When he saves a young girl, Sam, from a life of prostitution, forced on her by a gang, he has found a soul mate and a girlfriend for life. His rampage to clean up the streets where he lives and his school escalates when first Jack is almost killed and then Sam's mother is killed. Ending violence with violence doesn't seem to be working and the final standoff ends up with deadly consequences which are really quite tragic.

In The Anti-Bully, author Bob Dowd has written a fast-paced, action filled drama that demands the reader keep reading until the end. As the plot thickens and the violence intensifies, the reader can't help but wonder if violence really is the answer to eradicating the incessant control and violence of bullies and gangs. But, if violence doesn't work, what will? This is a real eye-opener drama that cleverly depicts a young boy on a 'masked man' crusade to save the world - or at least his world. Will he succeed? Very well done.
