In The Art of an Enlightened Woman, Sarah Voldeng defines empowerment as internal personal power derived from strength, confidence, and responsibility for one’s choices. She references Socrates on self-knowledge and continuous learning as foundational to empowerment. Voldeng’s Formula Factor Theory balances energizing “fill factors” and depleting “drain factors” to achieve fulfillment. She describes boundaries as intentional limits to protect mental and physical health, leaning into practice and self-care. Voldeng talks about accountability, emotional regulation, and avoidance of blame, citing concepts like scapegoating and social loafing. She speaks on the art of hustle and manifesting through intention, faith, and action, and the importance of humility, letting go, forgiveness, mindfulness, and living with intentionality as components of enlightenment.

The Art of an Enlightened Woman: A Manifesto by Sarah Voldeng is a wonderfully empowering book with clear, conversational writing that makes its messaging accessible and inspiring. I really like the thoughtful incorporation of quotes from spiritual leaders and thinkers, which go a long way in relating the guidance offered throughout to powerful sources. The book not only defines what an enlightened woman is but also provides practical steps to begin transitioning toward that state. Standout sections for me include those on taking full responsibility for our choices, actions, and mindset, while accepting accountability and emotional regulation without blame or excuses. I was also inspired by living by the art of a living eulogy and looking toward legacy. Overall, this is a fantastic book for our daily lives that's both meaningful and practical for anyone seeking a more conscious way of being. Very highly recommended.
