The Autumn Woodland Tea Party by Elle Steward is a heart-warming picture book for young children. Winter's almost here, and residents of the woodland are preparing for hibernation. When Fox awakes, he thinks of a brilliant idea, he should throw a party for all his woodland friends! He rushes over to Badger's home and tells him of his idea. Badger agrees it is indeed a great idea and helps Fox with the preparations, starting with inviting everyone! First, he makes his way over to Hedgehog's home, but Hedgehog is already asleep. Badger quietly walks away and continues. Next to invite is Squirrel, but he is too busy finding somewhere to hide his yummy collection of nuts. And finally, Badger visits a sleeping Bear and invites her to the party too. Bear yawns and happily accepts the invitation. Once everything is complete, the party begins! Will you join the party and do you have a favorite food to bring along?
The Autumn Woodland Tea Party is the perfect book to snuggle up with on a cold winter's day. When reading it, I was overcome with the winter chills, even though it wasn't wintery at all. To me, this shows the power of Elle Steward's words. Every page is beautifully written and will be a huge success with children. It is full of cute animals who have a great connection with one another, which I feel will educate children on the importance of having good friendships in life. This is a must-read and the author can be proud of her creation. Hopefully, she continues to write more soon.
