Misdirection tangles a murder trial in the stunning novel, The Big Job (A Stella Reynolds Mystery Book 5) by Libby Kirsch. Stella has finally made it to the big time, but on her way to New York for her training, she is redirected to Palm Springs, California. Her new manager sends her to cover a prominent murder trial for a day or two, while the original news reporter recovers from an illness. However, her colleague is sicker than they believed and Stella is in it for the long haul. While she is learning the ropes of news networking for NBC on the fly, Stella inadvertently discovers that the man being tried for murder may be innocent. With a competing journalist, a judge who may be biased, and a police detective with questionable motives muddying the waters, Stella struggles to make headway in her investigation for the truth. As the trial comes to a close, another man is murdered, and Stella believes his death is related to the case. With others impeding her investigation into the truth, can Stella save an innocent man from a prison sentence?
