The Biohunter by Ingrid Moon will appeal to dystopia, drama, action, and adventure fans. A catastrophic event called the Fracture changes the world drastically. Cities turn into fortresses behind the insurmountable walls, protecting them from deadly and dangerous wastelands. A biohunter named Axel Mercer who tracks rare, mutated animals goes on his last mission to these plains. He must catch a fourteen-year-old girl named Mira Shane and bring her to the fortress once known as Springfield. Imperium Enterprises, a soulless corporation in charge of the city, wants to capitalize on the teen's surprising abilities. But Mira is ready to fight for her freedom and her people, the other rebels, until her last breath. Mercer starts questioning his mission and uncovers old secrets, leading to an uncomfortable truth.
In The Biohunter, Ingrid Moon vividly describes a hypothetical near future of humankind. The author theorizes about our possible reactions to cataclysms and explores the choices we may face. This novel is entertaining, stirring, and unsettling, as the author asks hard yet necessary questions. Ingrid offers a cast of meticulously developed characters. Mercer is a key element of many dark secrets that Imperium Enterprises zealously keeps. Mira demonstrates relentless persistence while defending the cause she considers righteous. Her curiosity, willfulness, and bravery make her a lovable and remarkable character. Ingrid gives equal attention to the secondary characters, like Captain Adams. The author compares the young rebel to the experienced warrior, Mercer, and reveals his unexpected traits. The heart-pounding adventures start right from the first chapter and continue to the thrilling ending of this absorbing novel.
