Author Biography

Roger P. Heath is a life-long geologist and debut author whose favourite film is It’s a Wonderful Life, and whose bookshelves include Elif Shafak’s There are Rivers in the Sky, Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen, and Roddy Doyle’s Barrytown Trilogy.

The peculiar workings of his mind once threw out a phrase: No one knows but I, who wrote this here and why. He captured the thought, then laid the journal aside. Many sun-cycles later, he found those dust-laden notes and decided to find out what those words meant. This led him to Lanky, Jessica, and Beth. And Naga and the Iyes. And Shadow and the Ka. And ... Well, to the tale of the Warriors of the Continuum, a tale of unprepared, yet spirited characters just trying to do the right thing.

His trilogy of Arrival, Deception, and Life will published in 2025.

In Warriors of the Continuum: Arrival, Roger P. Heath introduces readers to a vast, multidimensional universe where time is not just a backdrop, but a force to be reckoned with. The story follows a group of seemingly ordinary individuals drawn into an extraordinary conflict when they cross paths with a mysterious young explorer. As they uncover hidden truths about the Continuum—a network of timelines holding reality together—they are thrust into a battle against malevolent forces threatening to unravel existence itself. What unfolds is a high-stakes journey across time and space, where the characters must confront their pasts, unlock latent abilities, and learn to work together if they hope to preserve the balance of all that is. Heath weaves science fiction, fantasy, and philosophical depth into a richly layered narrative that keeps you both grounded and curious with each page turn.

I found Roger P. Heath’s Warriors of the Continuum both thought-provoking and unexpectedly emotional. There's a sincerity to the writing that resonated deeply with me, particularly in how the characters evolve and respond to the pressure of a collapsing reality. Heath doesn’t rely on flashy gimmicks or overused sci-fi tropes—instead, he leans into strong storytelling and lets the world unfold with purpose. What stood out most was the author’s ability to make a high-concept narrative feel personal. I came away from this book reminded that courage isn’t always loud, and that meaning can be found in the quiet connections between people. Warriors of the Continuum: Arrival is more than just a journey through space and time—it’s a meditation on what makes us human.

Warriors of the Continuum, Part One: Arrival by Roger P. Heath is a work of epic fantasy that bridges modern-day Earth with a mythic past 13,000 years ago. Beth, Jessica, and the intrepid Lanky are swept into a forgotten world, and they find themselves in the Iyes tribe’s ancient conflict with the shadowy Ka. Here, the land is alive with the force of the A'ven, and looming over it all is the dark resurgence of the god Kaos. Proclaimed as destined ‘Warriors’ by the tribe's spiritual leader, the trio must adapt quickly to survive in a harsh landscape and discover whether they are truly meant to save it. Struggling with questions of identity, faith, and destiny, they confront magical forces, ancient lore, and unexpected romance. In a tale of hope and resilience, the first part of the Continuum saga sets the stage for a dramatic trilogy about the power of unity and belief across time.

Author Roger P. Heath has a flair for description that awakens all the senses, moving beyond the cinematic for a sweeping, time-bending epic filled with myth, prophecy, and truly immersive world-building. It’s interesting to see the intrepid trio at the center of this story, exploring Heath’s creation through a lens that lets us learn about it with them. There’s a great mixture of past and present in the way the story is created, offering relatable and recognizable footholds before leaping off into fantastic flights of fancy as we jump into scenes of high action and quieter moments of true emotional depth. This rollercoaster effect keeps you entranced in the trio’s transformation from ordinary to extraordinary, and the dialogue between them is moving and believable as their bonds with one another grow. Overall, Warriors of the Continuum, Part One: Arrival is a strong start to a promising trilogy, and I would certainly recommend it to fans of detailed and immersive fantasy novels with a lot of heart.

In Warriors of the Continuum: Arrival by Roger P. Heath, a group consisting of Jessica, Lanky, Beth, Knuckles, Eagle, Naga, Bear, and River is transported about thirteen thousand years into the past, during the retreat of glaciers in an ice age landscape. They learn from Naga, a shaman of the Iyes tribe, that they are considered Warriors destined to confront Kaos, a dark god threatening the Land and causing the spreading ice age. The group explores the significance of mystical Axes and a lost Staff, essential tools for combating Kaos. With incomplete knowledge of their mission and the Staff’s location, they plan a perilous journey north, where the Staff is believed to be hidden alongside an ancient ice dragon. Beth volunteers to undertake the journey, supported by tribal leaders, while the group prepares to unite their strengths against the encroaching threat.

Arrival by Roger P. Heath is a supremely in-depth fantasy with deeply personal character journeys in an expansive novel kicking off the Warriors of the Continuum saga. The writing is crisp, straightforward, and delivered from multiple points of view. There are a lot of moving pieces here, but Heath's pacing is great. He spins intense action scenes, such as harrowing battles and daring escapes, with quieter moments where the characters intimately consider their own fear, loyalty, and trauma. The world-building is brilliant, and the complex tribal cultures, ancient magic, and time shifts are executed without pulling readers out of the story. I liked the evolution of the relationships, and the unique and layered mythology and shifting timelines are grounded and believable. Overall, Arrival is a wonderful adventure, and I look forward to seeing where the next installment takes us. Very highly recommended.
