Miley Speaks: A True Story of Love, Loss, Grief, and Reconnection by Lisa Peachey and Carol Elizabeth Long is a deep dive into the spiritual world of humans, animals, and their interactions. When Lisa and Dene Peachey lost their beloved dog, Miley, they were devastated and at a total loss. Miley and her companion Sprout were an integral part of the Peachey family. An opportunity to possibly reconnect with their beloved Miley, through the gifted animal communicator Elizabeth Long, seemed like a long shot, or perhaps wishful thinking but the couple was prepared to try anything to salve their grief over Miley’s death. What followed was an incredible experience in which they discovered Miley was a multi-dimensional spirit being whose task was to act as a spiritual guide. Through a series of communications between Elizabeth and Miley, Lisa and Dene were allowed to ask Miley some of life’s biggest questions and at the same time find purpose, peace, and a new direction for themselves and their canine partners.

I initially approached Miley Speaks from a fairly cynical perspective but with an open mind and was willing to be convinced. Authors Lisa Peachey and Carol Elizabeth Long proposed a relatively “far out” concept in the idea of being able to communicate with deceased and living animals. The authors did an exceptional job of presenting the process and the results made me certain that, for them, the process was real and believable. What impressed me most was that many of the realities that Miley imparted during these discussions, such as existing in a multiverse, the power of thought and intention, the oneness of humanity, and creation in general, are all concepts that resonate with me in my journey. I was astounded to find myself nodding sagely at much of Miley’s wisdom and realizing that the concepts she was suggesting for Lisa and Dene were the same concepts I was trying to incorporate into my own life. As someone who has had few pets, I could not easily identify with the immense loss and grief at the loss of a pet but, regardless, Miley’s wisdom, advice, and subtle humor were a real treat. This is one of the more unusual books I’ve read but I’m certainly glad I did and I highly recommend it.

In Miley Speaks, Lisa Peachey joins forces with Carol "Elizabeth" Long to help individuals who have lost a treasured pet. Peachey and her husband, Dene, adopted Miley after a period of intense grief. Miley filled their lives with newfound joy, and they adopted another dog, Sprout, to keep her company. Miley passed away in 2020, leaving an intense sadness in their home. Wondering if they had made the right decision and helped Miley transition peacefully, the Peacheys reached out to Elizabeth Long, an animal communicator. Long details her sessions with Miley and Sprout. She and Miley help heal Sprout's past hurts and assist him and the Peacheys in accepting that Miley's energy has transitioned so they can think differently about death and have hope for the future.

Lisa Peachey and Carol Elizabeth Long's book gives hope to those who struggle after a beloved pet has passed. Reading the sessions could help people as they grieve, consoling them with the idea that their precious pet was sent to impart valuable lessons. Miley was much more than a dog, and she continued to guide Lisa and Dene as they navigated emotions and dimensional layers. She was especially helpful as Lisa experienced the heartbreaking loss of a close family member, supporting her in unexpected ways. Not only did Long facilitate communication for the Peacheys, but she also helped them with Sprout as he adjusted his thinking patterns. Readers who have an open mind and are searching for a connection to a treasured late pet will benefit from reading Miley Speaks.

“We’re home…no one cares.” That’s the truth of the heart-wrenching emptiness we feel when we lose a beloved pet. Lisa Peachey’s Miley Speaks addresses the unspeakable pain when a pet crosses the Rainbow Bridge. We have created this aura of a ‘bridge’ to some place better, but do we really know what happens when pets, or any of our loved ones, die? With the help of animal communicator, Elizabeth Long, the author was able to reach out to her beloved dog, Miley, receiving insight into the life beyond the Rainbow Bridge and how we are still connected to those loved ones who have moved on.

Lisa Peachey’s book, Miley Speaks: A True Story of Love, Loss, Grief, and Reconnection, is a touching resource that will have us both crying and releasing our grief as we move forward alone. This is Miley’s story, a memoir, but also a guide to help anyone looking for some comfort, some inspiration for spiritual growth, and a deeper understanding of the bond we shared with a special pet, a member of the family. The author uses her personal experience as well as her connection with an animal communicator to make sense of the unyielding and painful sense of loss. The language is both simple and soothing and will draw the reader into a sense of awe and wonder. It explains the difficult concepts of dying and loss so that we can all come to terms with our grief. With this book, those of us left behind can learn to accept the loss as well as to learn from it.

Miley Speaks by Lisa Peachey is an account of the author's pup Miley, and the connections between humans and animals that extend beyond physical existence. Through spiritual communication and a medium, Miley conveys that her presence in Peachey’s life was not random but a purposeful choice made before her incarnation. Miley shares details on reincarnation, group consciousness, and the dynamics of animal and human relationships. Lisa learns to relinquish control, trust universal timing, and recognize that love transcends death. These realizations transform Lisa’s understanding of loss by showing it as a continuation of the bond rather than an ending. Through her journey with Miley and her other dog, Sprout, Lisa gives readers a glimpse into the emotional depth of animals, the interconnectedness of life, and the beauty that comes from accepting life’s transitions.

Using first-hand accounts, conversations, emails, and journaling, Lisa Peachey invites us to a place of understanding in Miley Speaks: A True Story of Love, Loss, Grief, and Reconnection. Aside from being courageous enough to put the work out into the universe, Lisa’s writing is sincere and wonderfully introspective, distinguished by its mix of entries and her ability to present some of the more complicated spiritual concepts through Miley’s guidance. I have read other books where a medium is used to communicate with the animals we have loved in their physical forms, but I feel that the way this is presented in conversational vignettes is the most effective. It's important to note that even though this book will appeal most to those interested in animal spirituality or grief recovery, everything here is universal as it pertains to life as a whole. Overall, Miley Speaks is an earnest, loving memoir that asks readers to reconsider their relationships with the animals in their lives. Very highly recommended.

If you are mourning the loss of your beloved pet, Lisa Peachey and Carol Elizabeth Long's Miley Speaks will provide you with comfort and hope during this period of grief. Through their uplifting interactions with Miley via animal communication, the authors will help readers break through their own emotional anguish so that genuine healing can begin. Miley Speaks is a heartwarming memoir that includes messages from Peachey's dearly departed dog, Miley. Miley shares her profound insights on her remarkable former life with Peachey and her husband, Dene. She also shares her expansive, philosophical views on loss, death, grief, and reconnection--even after a beloved pet has passed on. This book is adapted to promote healing as it guides readers to confront their loss while maintaining a positive outlook on the beauty of life.

Miley Speaks is a well-written, compassionate, and eye-opening memoir that provides unlimited hope for all those who have experienced the death of a faithful animal companion. It empathetically acknowledges that pet loss can be devastating for pet owners, and closure isn't a simple process that happens immediately. As such, Lisa Peachey, Carol Elizabeth Long, and Miley do an exceptional job of providing pet owners with much-needed comfort and reassurance that death is not the end of their cherished animal companions. Peachey's and Long's encounters with Miley present a heartfelt testimony of the lasting bond between a pet owner and their faithful companion--a bond that can even surpass the limitations of the physical realm and death. I highly recommend this book to persons coping with the loss of a beloved pet. This memoir should be necessary reading for all grieving pet owners, whether they believe in pet reconnection and reincarnation or not.
