Love has a way of challenging the rules we make for ourselves. In The Crazy Test by Megan Bosarge, Dalton is convinced he has relationships figured out. After every woman he dates fails his personal "crazy test," he's certain commitment simply isn't for him. Sofia has her own reasons for keeping romance at arm's length as she focuses on earning a career-defining promotion at the magazine where she works. They meet by chance. Neither expects to see the other again. But soon, their work and personal lives become impossible to keep separate. Both are forced to rethink what they believe about commitment. They begin to discover that their biggest obstacle may be themselves. Can they let their walls down and take a chance?
I’m so glad I read The Crazy Test by Megan Bosarge. Dalton ended up being my favorite. That surprised me because I don't often connect with the male lead more than the female. There was just something about him that kept me invested. I liked Sofia too. Her ambition made her feel like a real person instead of a typical romance heroine. I appreciated that both main characters were resistant to getting serious. The book also challenged some common romance stereotypes. I don't see that very often in this type of novel. The writing was clear, the scenes were easy to picture, and the pacing never dragged. Shakespeare wrote, "The course of true love never did run smooth," and this story is a fun reminder that sometimes the biggest obstacle is ourselves. Readers who enjoy contemporary romance with humor, chemistry, and characters who have room to grow will want to read it. After all, how many of the rules we make about love are actually worth keeping?
