In The Deception by Doug Dorsey, Chris Washington is trying to overcome his doubts and inexperience to prove his worth to the department. Working in the Secret Service is not easy, especially if you seem like a rookie. He is given the helm of a standard investigation, which turned out to be bigger than anyone anticipated. He went for the investigation with a team of veteran agents, believing nothing could go wrong. Luckily for him - or unluckily - the innocent international investigation reveals a terrorist plan that has the potential of destroying the USA and its most guarded assets and secrets. Will Chris be able to keep the team united under his inexperienced lead? Will he be able to gather courage and confidence to solve this case and save his country?
The Deception by Doug Dorsey is a good thriller that will keep you up at night because you will not be able to put the book down. The setting of the novel was great and the atmosphere was exactly what it should be. The thrill of the chase was very exciting. Your heart will be pounding along with Chris in every dangerous scene. The dialogues were written in a way that appeal to the reader. Many times authors write dialogues that seem like a question and answer session; this is not the case with this novel. The reader does not feel left out in any way. It felt as if I was in the same room with the characters. An amazing novel for people who love a good thriller!
