The Devil's Dance by Brett McKay tells the harrowing journey of Chase Gray, a former SWAT officer, who goes on a road trip with his 14-year-old estranged daughter, Oakley. When the latter is kidnapped by Tocho, a member of a bizarre tribal cult, Chase begins a desperate search for her. His heartrending journey forces him to confront his own past letdowns (especially as a father) and his fragile relationship with Oakley. Suddenly, his quest is interrupted by supernatural forces with sinister agendas. Despite encountering frightening chases, dangerous creatures, and satanic rituals, Chase is determined to rescue Oakley. He even recruits Kenny, a local deputy, and Miles, his FBI friend, to aid him on his quest. Can Chase fight his inner demons while saving Oakley from the clutches of a twisted madman?

Brett McKay's The Devil's Dance is a gripping thriller that offers an emotional journey into the vulnerable side of family dynamics and one man's search for reprieve. Chase’s journey is both externally action-packed as he races through vast wildernesses and occult areas, and internally impactful since his past guilt continues to haunt him throughout the story. The author’s use of Native American cultural motifs adds intrigue to the storyline. It also creates a refreshing narrative that is rooted in reality and legend at the same time. Readers who enjoy character–driven novels and stories that merge the natural and the supernatural worlds will find this book irresistible and impossible to put down. If you're a fan of supernatural and horror novels, don't miss out on an incredible read.
