The Genie In The Pages is a children’s picture book written by Daniel Hart L'Ecuyer with illustrations by Mary Pat Kanaley. The story follows two siblings, Rosie and Posy, who love their family and make it their mission to know everyone they are related to. Unfortunately, one of their uncles, Daniel, is a mystery to them because they have never met him. They ask their parents about him and are informed that he was an amazing poet and writer, but when he found out he was sick and would not live long, he decided to become a genie. He planned to meet his nephews and nieces even after he was gone. Unfortunately, no one knows if he managed to turn himself into a genie, but if he was successful, he said he would be living in a book. Armed with this knowledge, Rosie and Posy venture on a mission to read every book they can find before Christmas to locate their Uncle Daniel, The Genie In The Pages.
Family, Christmas, and adventure; The Genie In The Pages gives you all this and more. Rosie and Posy are adorable characters who will bring a smile to your face with their cute expressions. Daniel Hart L'Ecuyer delivers a moving story that highlights the importance of family bonds and the power of reading. He uses a relaxed and casual tone to narrate the story that sucks you in with its unpredictable ending. The best part of the book is the realistic illustrations that bring the characters to life. The magical elements and Christmas theme give the book an enchanting vibe. The colors are eye-catching and will grab children’s attention. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend adding it to your children’s library. Brilliant work.
