The author seamlessly integrates supernatural elements with a classic detective story, creating a unique and engaging hybrid of mystery and the occult that sits right in the middle of real history and feels eerily suitable there.
William Perry Blake III excels at building a spooky, tension-filled backdrop in Murklond, enhancing the suspense with the stakes of the world at war around the characters, and crafting a claustrophobic feeling in the tightly woven narrative. The storytelling keeps readers on edge, with Blake’s expert use of twists, red herrings, and escalating stakes making for a suspenseful and unpredictable read. However, it always feels that you’re in safe hands with an author who knows what they’re doing.
