The Grand Scheme: Understanding God’s Plan for Your Life is a cheerful and enthusiastic Christian non-fiction book. Author Tega Folivi sets out a simple list of ways to identify how God is working in your life and urges people to embrace a confident, powerful connection with God by looking beyond confusing situations towards His ultimate plan. The book has 10 chapters that outline God’s characteristics as a master guide for people’s lives and each chapter gives strategies for channeling this divine plan into their daily practice. There is also a short set of prophetic affirmations for the reader to use at the end.

This book is a ray of sunshine! The Grand Scheme: Understanding God’s Plan for Your Life delivers plain-speak about getting in touch with God—how, why, and what to expect—and is very clear about the humility and clear communication practices that are necessary. Tega Folivi upholds God’s work in her own life and encourages others to believe in His purpose for them as well. Her absolute commitment propels the book forward in a very strong way. God’s presence in her and of the type of person she defines as a “God-lover” is described beautifully. One highlight for me also was the variety of Scriptures quoted from many different translations and I liked how sensible a lot of the topics were—a loving spirit towards other people, real immersion in God’s Word, and acceptance that tough or surprising situations in life might actually be His design. I highly recommend some of the common sense the author puts forward.

“I too used to suffer despair and overwhelming anxiety each time I encountered a challenge in my life until I discovered this truth for myself.” The Grand Scheme by Tega Folivi is an incredible guide to finding peace in the face of adversity. Folivi starts by reviewing Romans 8:28, the verse that is the foundation and inspiration for The Grand Scheme. Chapter One starts by providing insight on knowledge, and the importance of knowledge in accordance with God’s word. Paul was able to exhibit great faith through adversity due to his knowledge of the end result; he understood God had a plan for him. Chapter Two begins to explain a deeper concept of Romans 8:28, that we do not see the puzzle pieces God is putting into place in our lives. When we embrace his love, we are able to better understand this concept and let go of our own understanding.

Folivi continues in the following chapters to provide exceptional, Word-driven guidance on our responsibilities and how we can build an effective relationship with God through intimacy rather than simply obedience. The Grand Scheme provides scriptures to help us understand that even though at times we may not fully understand all of the puzzle pieces being put into place, we can gain greater understanding of them through meditation on scripture, intimacy with the Lord, and a bit of faith in knowing that God has a plan and a purpose for us beyond our comprehension.

I take great comfort in reading such well-informed and spirit-led writing from an author like Tega Folivi. It is apparent from the first page that Folivi understands and can personally relate to the concepts she is teaching in her book, The Grand Scheme. Through my own personal trials and adversity, I found peace in many of the verses and concepts that Folivi shares and I can personally speak to their validity in times of struggle. In a world filled with depression, anxiety, and a general sense of being overburdened, The Grand Scheme is a peace-giving guide to the joy that is coming our way in accordance with the Bible. The Grand Scheme is an excellent guide for all Christians, and is highly recommended!

The Grand Scheme: Understanding God's Plan for Your Life by Tega Folivi is an uplifting Christian non-fiction work that is founded on Romans 8:28. Folivi draws from her own experiences and shows why believers should find comfort in the fact that everything ultimately works for good even when it does not immediately seem so. This work expounds on the loving nature of God and his desire to deepen His relationship with people. It reveals Him as a Father who is present even in times of trouble. The book explains why sometimes even believers experience disappointments in life. Bible verses dot the book’s pages and they show where the messages in the book are derived. The work also discusses topics on leading a spirit-led life, how to rest in God, among other topics.

Tega Folivi’s journey as a Christian serves as an inspiration and shows that the relationship between the believer and God is not always perfect but God, out of love, continues to pursue the believer. The book is written with an encouraging tone. In chapter 3, Tega Folivi encourages the believer to rise when they fall and keep moving even when they fall short. The work is divided into coherent sections that tackle each topic at a time. Subtopics also appear in the chapters and they help break down the messages into comprehensible parts. The language used is straightforward and any reader will be able to understand the content as it is also elucidated by the included biblical verses. Passionately written, Tega Folivi’s The Grand Scheme is life-changing.
