The Hierophant Card by Bevan Atkinson is the sixth book in the Tarot Mysteries series. Xana Bard finds herself once again in a spot of trouble when she gets a new client in Thalia Thalassos. Reading Thalia’s cards quickly pulls Xana into a whole new set of drama as the woman confides in her about her husband’s affair. As Xana digs deeper and begins to unravel lie after lie, she wonders if Thalia could have a hand in her husband’s death. Xana puts her skills to the test to uncover the truth as she explores the world of golf and horse races in her effort to find the real killer.

This newest mystery takes Xana into the life of Thalia who comes barging into Xana’s world, bringing with her problems with a cheating husband. The drama of Thalia’s life leads to intense and crazy moments where Xana is literally caught between fights between a wife and a mistress while she’s navigating the world of golfers and horse races. Woven throughout the mystery are scenes from the perspective of a sinister nurse stalking the hospital with a false name and a syringe, which adds suspense to the story as he has moments with the characters and they’re completely unaware of his presence. This suspense is upped when Mater ends up in the hospital, which puts her in the crosshairs of the sinister nurse and gives the story a fun intensity as you know what the characters do not. Xana's relationship with Thorne adds a sweet touch to the mystery as the progress their relationship has had since the first book is seen in how the two have formed a strong partnership. He’s confident that she can turn to him as she uncovers each new clue and piece of information while also giving the story a little romance to enjoy. The Hierophant Card by Bevan Atkinson delivers another delightful and addictive mystery that brings you once again into the zany world of Xana Bard.
