My stomach is still in a knot and my heart in my throat after I finished reading The House on Sunset, the incredible memoir by debut author Lindsay Fischer. Follow her journey through a difficult and abusive relationship, from near death at times to eventual redemption. This book is not for the faint of heart. Author Lindsay Fischer went through hell. Beatings, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, the torture from her boyfriend Mike, who was supposed to love her, put her through several circles of hell. This book is not an easy read, but it is an important one.

The House on Sunset was scary and fascinating at the same time. Author Lindsay Fischer's storytelling will certainly resonate with any survivor of domestic violence, and will hopefully touch those who are still enduring this kind of treatment in their personal lives. For those without direct personal experience with abuse, this book will give them a true insider's look into what an abusive relationship, and the circumstances that make someone who is being abused stay with their abuser.

Written in such a clear voice that the reader will feel as if they are with Lindsay during the worst periods of her life, this book will stay with you long after you've finished the last page. I give great credit to author Lindsay Fischer for being able to write about such an emotional time in her life. I also want to thank her for sharing what could help so many others in this situation. I highly recommend The House on Sunset, and I urge any reader to pick up and read this important book as soon as possible.
