Beneath the Basilica, the memoirs and confessions of Lucrezia Borgia were discovered in the historical fiction novel, The Lost Diary of Lucrezia Borgia (Deathbed Confessions by the Pope’s Daughter) by Johnny Teague. A devout Christian and archaeologist, Giuseppe is delighted when he is asked to search within the confines of the Vatican for the last resting place of Alexander the Great. Unexpectedly, while exploring a hidden passage, he stumbles upon the last words recorded for Lucrezia Borgia, the illegitimate daughter of Pope Alexander VI. The details surrounding Lucrezia's life and the people whose lives were connected with hers are shocking. Her life was filled with corruption, selfish desires, and sorrow. But in the end, Lucrezia made an astounding decision. Is it possible that God led him to this amazing document? Will Giuseppe be able to share it with the world?

Italian Renaissance figures come to life in the compelling historical fiction novel, The Lost Diary of Lucrezia Borgia by Johnny Teague. The story steadily progresses, as Lucrezia unburdens her soul through her thoughts and memories. Although there is no building crescendo of a story arc, it is an intense chronicle of lust and debauchery with no heroes or victories. Each character is shown with all their flaws and immorality unveiled, revealing their humanity and how the consequences of their actions affect the world around them. Christianity is woven throughout the narrative like a golden thread in contrast to the dark corruption. It is a powerful story filled with biblical references that will resonate with those who love a tale of repentance and redemption.
