Author Biography

Jeanne lives by the inspirational quote “Live well, laugh often, love much” by Bessie Anderson Stanley. If she could add one more thought to this inspirational quote it would be: “Live well, laugh often, love much” and learn all along the way. Jeanne's books are educational, engaging and interactive. She loves to put a fun spin on learning!

Jeanne was inspired to write this book because all children need to feel special and all adults who care for them need to be a little bit more like children.

When she is not writing, Jeanne is inspired by spending time outdoors with her Scottish Terrier named Rocky, photographing nature, reading historical fiction, attending car shows and surrounding herself with family and friends.

Before embarking on her writing adventures, Jeanne enjoyed life and learning as an educational leader, actuarial analyst, research chemist and volunteer at a local children’s museum.

All of Jeanne's books have earned five-star reviews from Readers’ Favorites. These include "Learn To Count With An Octopus Named Oogle", "Drawing The Alphabet: My First Take-Along-With-Me Learn-To-Read Activity Book", "Curious Isabella: Embracing A Challenge With Art And Science", "Crush Math Anxiety With Drones: Succeed In Math By Nurturing A Growth Mindset Through Drone Stories", "My Box Of Toys, No Batteries Needed", "My Favorite Things, And What My Friends Like Too”, "One Life From the 'Greatest Generation’: Reminiscing The Life of Robert A. The Magic of Children: Reminders for a Happy Life by Jeanne Holmberg is a heartwarming children's picture book that celebrates the invaluable lessons adults can learn from children. While parents and guardians have the responsibility to nurture and raise kids to be kind and loving individuals, they can also find joy and inspiration in the simplicity of children's perspectives. This book encourages readers to embrace the curiosity, imagination, and pure joy children naturally possess. It reminds adults that happiness often resides in the small moments and genuine connections we form with others. We can learn from nature, accept others, be silly with our children and families, and embrace the freedom that comes from viewing the world through a child's eyes.

Jeanne Holmberg’s The Magic of Children is one of the most thoughtful books I have ever read. It uses simple language to touch on an aspect of the human experience that many have forgotten—the joy and fun that children bring into our lives. We all have that child within us that we have neglected. Fortunately, this engaging narration reminds us of the importance of nurturing that inner child and cherishing the wonder that comes with it. Holmberg effectively conveys this message by highlighting the various lessons children can impart. The book also lists the fun activities kids love, such as singing, dancing, and drawing—activities that adults can join to connect with their children and revive their sense of joy and creativity. The artwork is beautiful, much of it in black and white, providing a perfect backdrop for shared coloring activities with your children. Overall, this is an excellent read with a powerful message about reconnecting with our inner child and finding joy in everyday moments.
