In Reality X by DC Wince, what starts as a reckless drive into the deep desert for an underground party quickly spirals into a subterranean nightmare. A group of strangers awake to find themselves locked inside an enormous mansion built nine stories underground, each fitted with a bizarre silver band locked onto their wrist. They quickly realize they are trapped in a shifting underground labyrinth controlled by a sentient computer program named Metatron, who claims they’re all being watched by a powerful shadow group called the Syndicate. Given a brutal choice to kill each other until only one person survives, or face total execution when their countdown timer expires, the captives' societal masks instantly shatter. Can the group navigate this deadly playground of psychological horror, or will the game strip away their humanity before the clock hits zero?

In DC Wince’s horror thriller novel, the narrative acts like a psychological vise that slowly tightens around your mind from the very first page. I found myself fully captivated by the unique imagination displayed throughout Wince’s storytelling. His writing style was designed to hold your attention from beginning to end. The rapid pacing never gives you a chance to pause and catch your breath. Wince brilliantly spins the underground estate’s physical layout into a terrifying prison. The vivid descriptions of the shadow-drenched Victorian halls and eerie pool rooms make the atmosphere feel freakishly ominous—almost as if the building is actually digesting the captives alive. The tension between the characters’ survival instincts and their fading humanity is another aspect of the book that feels very authentic. Putting the book down is almost impossible after you’ve finished chapter one. I recommend Reality X to anyone who loves high-stakes survival games or books with sinister AI villains. Better yet, if you’re a fan of the SAW franchise, you’re guaranteed to enjoy reading this novel.

Reality X by DC Wince commences with Alex Maddox, a young man chasing a wild rumor about an exclusive desert event, only to wind up waking up in his underwear inside a bizarre, shadowless subterranean mansion. He isn’t alone, though. Several other confused strangers have been taken from different places and dragged nine stories beneath the earth. A terrifying digital host reveals that they are stuck in a huge sixty-four-room facility designed for a dark survival contest in which only one winner can leave. Panic and paranoia take over as the captives scatter into the shifting hallways, uncovering hidden weapons and sliding mirrors while struggling to separate temporary allies from potential killers in the group. Trapped with a ruthless killer hidden among them, can anyone withstand the pressure long enough to be the final survivor—or will their time run out for good?

DC Wince’s Reality X is a gripping techno-thriller and suspense novel that will leave you genuinely invested in whether anyone makes it out alive. The story masterfully explores how quickly civilization rots when a group of people is placed under an evolutionary microscope. What really stood out for me was the balance of mystery and dread. Wince possesses a fantastic talent for stacking tension during quiet, unsettling scenes right before explosive violence hits. I got actual goosebumps when the captives realized hidden eyes were tracking their every move via surveillance feeds, reducing their survival to a twisted spectacle for a shadow organization. The conversations feel tense and engaging, wonderfully reflecting the pure panic of realizing the countdown clock is mercilessly ticking away. I know readers who obsess over claustrophobic, high-stakes psychological suspense will absolutely devour this book.

Reality X by DC Wince plunges readers into a subterranean nightmare as Carter Graves finds himself trapped deep inside a sweeping, underground compound alongside several defensive strangers. Every captive is fitted with an unyielding metal band on their wrist, and a chilling digital host announces they have exactly six hours to participate in a zero-sum survival event orchestrated by a hidden syndicate. There is no escape hatch; the doors automatically lock, and hidden mirror passages open based on an automated framework that demands absolute destruction until only a solitary winner remains. As panic sets in, the social roles of the captives disintegrate into pure self-preservation. Will Carter manage to keep his wits about him and survive this psychological nightmare when everyone around him turns into a lethal adversary?

Reality X by DC Wince is a suspense novel that honestly feels like a cold social experiment, watching everyone’s ethics collapse under extreme pressure. What pulled me in completely was the fascinating way the cast degenerates as their initial shock gives way to tactical survivalism. Wince creates a fantastic atmosphere by mixing modern surveillance tech with old-world gothic aesthetics, making the entire building feel like an active trap. Also, seeing the characters gradually fall apart the second the digital clock started shaving away their remaining time was just fascinating. The author depicts the group’s panic using very realistic dialogue, so you can really feel the room’s temperature rising as the hours fly by. Loaded with hidden surprises and plot twists, the story is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Horror and suspense thriller fans will love it.
