Landry LeBlanc is a successful lawyer in a big firm. He intends to become a partner as soon as possible. Achieving this goal is so important to Landry that he sacrifices even his conscience. Landry is notorious for dumping his girlfriends right before New Year's. Little does he know that such behavior may attract the attention of those he thought only existed in fairy tales. Landry's fairy godmother, Stella, is about to teach him a bitter lesson. Landry meets Allie Beck, a fellow lawyer with a will of steel. They start working on an investment project together, and Landry falls for Allie. Fans of fantasy, romance, and adventure will enjoy The New Year's Man by Michael Scott Clifton.
The New Year's Man is a twisty tale about a self-made man who overcame the misery and disadvantage of his early years and built the career of his dreams. Yet, Landry falls into his own trap. He becomes too self-absorbed to notice that his actions hurt those around him. While developing the main character, the author adds an element of drama to the gripping and often hilarious account of Landry's adventures. Michael Scott Clifton explores the characters in depth and builds captivating and lively dialogue between them. Seemingly perfect, Landry and Allie still have flaws, which bring them closer to us. The narration is fast-paced and so smooth that I finished the book in just three sittings! Clifton skillfully weaves fantasy elements into the main storyline. The author keeps us entertained until the last chapter and surprises us with an astonishing final twist.
