The Order of St. Michael: A Bud Hutchins Thriller is a contemporary paranormal fantasy for young adults written by J.B. Michaels. Bud Hutchins discovered that one of his teleportation devices had been stolen, and he was hot on the thief’s trail. His first stop was Salem, Mass, where he was greeted with the disturbing sight of a dead man wearing robes. Examining the body led Bud to determine that the man's blood was probably collected by the killer. His ruminations on the corpse were suddenly interrupted by the rustling of leaves. Wheeling round, Bud gave chase to a fleeing hooded figure who, when apprehended, turned out to be the murdered man's niece and protegee. Her name was Maeve, and her uncle was attempting to keep the witches of Salem dead and buried. His death resulted in the unholy appearance of a very hungry and definitely unwholesome coven of witches who are determined to make a meal of Bud and Maeve. Will Bud be able to convince the local police that he's not the killer, vanquish a coven of undead witches, and regain his tech, not to mention simply stay alive? Even the savviest, paranormal inventor-sleuth would find Bud's situation a challenging one indeed.

J.B. Michaels' contemporary paranormal fantasy for young adults, The Order of St. Michael: A Bud Hutchins Thriller, introduces a new sleuth who combines the deductive reasoning of a young Sherlock Holmes with the uncanny and instinctive gift for coping with the unnatural of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden. I started to smile as I listened to Bud's discourse on the condition of the corpse he encounters and kept smiling throughout this exciting, original and very entertaining book, which cunningly blends science with the supernatural. Michaels' plot is fast-paced and filled with the unexpected, and his characters are finely drawn and credible. I'll be watching for more Bud Hutchins Thrillers -- surely an inventor/investigator this prodigious deserves a few more adventures. The Order of St. Michael: A Bud Hutchins Thriller is grand fun for contemporary fantasy lovers of all ages and it's most highly recommended.

The Order of St. Michael (A Bud Hutchins Book) by J.B. Michaels is a thrilling paranormal young adult fiction novel. Bud Hutchins is a genius fresh out of high school. Somebody has stolen a teleportation device that he has invented and he is hunting for them. In his search, he discovers that the thief is opening portals for monsters to invade the world. At the first location, he discovers a dead monk, a coven of witches from 1692, and a young girl fleeing the scene. Officer Hanks arrives at the scene to investigate the murder of the monk and arrests Bud. The witches descend on the police station and together they manage to escape the coven. Now Officer Hanks is helping Bud track the thief. Officer Hanks flies to Chicago to work with Bert, Bud's friend, while Bud tries to stop the thief from opening any more portals. Will they succeed or will evil prevail?

If you like thrilling stories with witches, zombies and werewolves, then The Order of St. Michael (A Bud Hutchins Book) by J.B. Michaels is the book for you! It is a hair-raising saga that will keep the reader enthralled to the very end. Bud Hutchins is a lovable eccentric, not unlike Sheldon Cooper from "The Big Bang Theory." I was thoroughly amused by his character and enjoyed the way he expressed himself. The story touches on the Druids and the Order of St. Michael and is quite fascinating. This is an excellent book and I recommend it to anybody that loves a good monster thriller. It is suitable for young adults who love science fiction.

Bud Hutchins thought his day was strange enough when his teleportation device was stolen, and it led him to a murdered monk, but that's just the beginning. He immediately finds himself face to face with the murdered monk's niece, Mauve, and learns that both she and the monk are members of the elusive Order of Saint Michael, a secretive sect of the church devoted to keeping the supernatural at bay. Soon, Bud and Mauve find themselves on a chase for the teleportation device that leads them from New Orleans to England after the device's thief, who is on a mission of his own to resurrect a demon of the ancient world to wipe out monotheistic religion, and life as we know it. The Order of Saint Michael: A Bud Hutchins Mystery by JB Michaels takes readers on a thrilling, fast paced journey across the western world to save the monks of the holy order, keep the evil forces unleashed at bay, and find Bud's stolen teleportation device.

This is a great book with a plot that moves quickly. You definitely need to pay attention to every detail, and will be entertained by the otherworldly forces that Bud and Mauve find themselves face to face with. It also takes sudden twists and turns that will keep readers guessing, and turning pages right through to the end. The Order of Saint Michael: A Bud Hutchins Mystery by JB Michaels is an entertaining read. My only complaint is that I would like to see more character development, because they do seem like likable, entertaining people, and I'd like to know them better. Overall, it's a great read.
