Lance Porter Priest, ironically known as 'Preacher' is recognized by the shadowy figures, at the head of the CIA, as a perfect candidate for training as a spy and infiltrator. But, being a perfect candidate makes Lance a flawed character - flawed because he shows no emotion, has no compunction about killing people and he allows no-one to get close enough to really know him. His mentor in the CIA, Geoffrey Seibel, throws Lance into a series of deadly training exercises, many of which are designed to kill. His chameleon-like abilities, which enable Lance to blend into the world around him and become invisible, help him survive 'basic' training and he soon earns himself a reputation as a skilled operative. He is sent to Iraq, just prior to Desert Storm to help prevent the spread of stolen nuclear warheads.

In its current form, this manuscript needs further line-editing. There are many instances of 'wrong' words being used which has detracted from this reviewer's reading experience. The dialogue between the characters is well done and the prologue and epilogue are cleverly linked, but the reader may miss the link which is only revealed in the last paragraph of the story. Overall this is a good adventure story with interesting characters and a compelling plot.
