In The Residents Of Rainbow Road, we are introduced to many new faces who live on a magical street. Every color is represented by a neighbor who loves that specific color which they show by filling their homes with their favorite shades. Each one is different and special in his or her way. Through Ceara Milligan, we meet people like Purple who is creative and loves her bouncy, and Pink who is charming and caring, with a shoe collection and treats. Even though each color isn’t like the other, when they are together they make up a rainbow, bringing out the best in each other.
Ceara Milligan has done a wonderful job with The Residents Of Rainbow Road. I like the way it shows children that everyone is unique and special, no matter the color of their skin, or what makes them individuals. The author goes in-depth into each character, giving us a real glimpse of who they are, which I found impressive. The moral that all these colors with different hobbies and talents can find common ground, be friends, and live in harmony sends a powerful message to kids. As with the story, the illustrations are beautifully done and fit perfectly. Each character is represented with bright colors that will grab the young reader's attention. Overall, it’s a great read that I would recommend. Children will love it. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to read more of Milligan’s work in the future.
