Author Biography

Regina Buttner is a registered nurse-turned-writer who was raised in beautiful upstate New York, where she spent many happy years exploring the small towns and scenic hiking trails of the Adirondack mountain region. She recently traded the snowy northern winters for the tropical breezes of the Sunshine State, where her favorite pastimes are kayaking among the mangroves, strolling the gorgeous beaches, and teaching tricks to her crafty little corgi, Pekoe.

Rudy is a down-on-his-luck, 25-year-old who got evicted from his stepparents' house. Debra and Mitchell, his stepparents, want him to grow up and become an independent adult. While moving out, Rudy begins to plot his revenge on them. With little to lose, Rudy decides to steal and sell his stepfather's gun. Rudy moves into his best friend’s shabby apartment and strives to create some normalcy for himself. He is jobless and lacks any substantial education and skills. But in time, his life slowly moves forward. Rudy eventually meets and falls in love with the enigmatic Laci, and she inspires him to get his life together. But there are many surprises in store for Rudy later on. Those surprises involve the forgotten gun, Laci, and his stepparents. It seems as if everyone has secrets that need unburdening. But the truth can be just as brutal as the lies. Sometimes, it can even result in lethal consequences for those involved. The Revenge Paradox has flawed characters who are on the road to redemption. But will their redemption stories have favorable outcomes? Only time will tell. The story is told through multiple points of view and gives us a clearer understanding of the events that took place and the thought processes of each character. Regina Buttner does a fantastic job of structuring the flawless dialogue among these intriguing characters. The events flow quickly, so there is no time to disconnect from the characters or their storylines. Excellent writing on the whole! Without a doubt, suspense/mystery lovers will fall in love with this book.
