The Shield of Horatius: A Molly & Michael Mystery (Molly & Michael Mysteries) (Volume 1) by Chris Oler is another adventure fantasy story which children will enjoy reading. Marco Vittorini's family has protected the location of an artifact for hundreds of years. Molly and Michael join Marco to unravel the hidden mystery. The search takes them to many places and they discover many unknown things. The presence of the mysterious rescuer is again another angle that adds to the mystery.
The book, like any adventure story book, is fast paced. The characters, the scenes, the incidents, they all come and go quickly. Molly and Michael are two adorable characters who are enthusiastic in helping Marco solve the mystery. The book has many characters with unusual names and places which add to the interest of the reader and tickles their curious mind. The book takes the reader through museums, churches, and ruins. The fact that two children are trying to solve a mystery is interesting enough for a child reader. Adventure stories always have a lot of creative energy in them. The authors of these books always come up with whimsical, magical, and entertaining characters, places, and names.
Will Molly, Michael, and Marco be able to solve the ancient mystery? Will they be able to identify the strange figure known as the Rescuer? For the reader's information, this is Volume I of the adventure story. So I wonder what the second volume will be like. And where the story will lead us to? Children will love this book.
