As Kaia continues searching desperately for her, Naomi's worries and fears for her family escalate. But Kaia will stop at nothing until she uncovers the answers she seeks. Delve into The Silent Forest to reveal the hidden dark secrets of New Haven.

The Silent Forest by David Kummer is a well-written, engaging, and captivating mystery that kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end. Initially, I felt calm and curious, but my emotions quickly shifted to excitement as the characters slowly discovered frightening things in the forest. Even though the Woods family are simply fictional characters in the book, their problems and feelings were sometimes relatable which made each character grow on me, particularly Kaia. As I read more of Kaia’s raw emotions and her feelings, I started to adore her even more and respect her for her grit. It made me wish to have someone like Kaia in my life. I enjoyed reading The Silent Forest and the ending left me with the impression that this is just the beginning of more mysteries to come. I am so eager to read more of The House on the Hill series! Excellent work!

The Silent Forest is the second installment in The House On the Hill series by David Kummer. Weeks after the disappearance of her best friend, Allison, Kaia Woods still hasn't given up hope and is determined to find her. However, the town of New Haven is in turmoil. While Kaia's parents hold on to their secrets, they take in Rhys, a young boy with a dark past. Meanwhile, more people are disappearing in the town, and animals are being massacred. Kaia has been receiving letters from a stranger who insists Allison is still alive. On Malaki Banks' information, Kaia, her father Cliff Woods, Jeremy, and Sheriff Wheeler embark on a search mission into the woods. But once they reach their destination, Kaia will have to pay a heavy price to save Allison.

The Silent Forest is a riveting follow-up to The Misery House. David Kummer doesn't miss a single beat as he continues to impress with this captivating thriller trilogy. The stakes are higher than ever as Kummer spins a gripping narrative layered with horror, suspense, and mystery. The plot is totally unpredictable, teasing the reader with bits and pieces of information that slowly peel back the layers of the larger mystery. Readers can't take their eyes off the pages. The author uses a multi-POV narrative, which puts the reader into the headspace of different characters with their own agency, so the reader can understand what drives their actions and motives. All in all, this is a very intricately crafted psychological thriller. I have officially become a fan of this series and can't wait to read the final book. Highly recommended.

David Kummer's The Silent Forest: The House on the Hill is an astonishing psychological suspense novel. Everyone, including Allison's parents, gave up trying to find her a few weeks after she went missing. The people of New Haven were getting used to life after the dreadful summer as they mourned the deaths of George and his son and Allison’s disappearance. The Woods family accepted a strange boy into their family circle, but they had no idea where his parents were or where he came from. In addition to Mallory and Roland Clark going missing, Mallory's sister vanished after asking for assistance in locating them. Kaia had not given up on finding Allison and believed she was still alive. Kaia’s only hope was to find answers from Malaki, who had last seen Allison.

David Kummer's The Silent Forest is a gripping thriller that kept me interested until the end. It was fast-paced, and the twists and turns led me down numerous paths. The mystery and intrigue throughout the plot had me hooked, and I was guessing until the end. I could not put the book down since it moved swiftly, and I could not stop turning the pages. The characters were captivating, and the intricate web of connections between them captivated me. It seemed as if the parents in the Wood family were full of secrets that they tried to protect at all costs. I was drawn into the story and the characters' lives by the excellent writing. The ending was shocking and unexpected.
