Bailey Jordan has adored her husband, Brad, since they were children together. Now, they are married and approaching their late thirties. Bailey has stood by Brad as he has had one not so successful investment scheme after another. She knows her home life was a good one and understands that Brad's was not, with an absent father and an alcoholic mother. He does love his aunt Olivia who, in turn, is not especially nice to Bailey. But when aunt Olivia crashes her car, killing herself and nearly killing Brad in downtown New York City, Bailey does not know what to do. She is working with family to support herself and Brad by selling New York City real estate, but now her beloved Brad is recovering from a near-death experience and what does he do? Taking money he inherits from aunt Olivia, he overspends on his next adventure, a lighthouse on the Hudson River and announces that he and Bailey are moving soon. Poor Bailey! What is next?

Author Mary Carter has written another first-rate novel that readers of Luanne Rice will totally adore. Bailey loves Brad and together they weather some really amazing but totally explainable situations. Bailey, Brad, aunt Olivia, newly-weds Allissa and Greg, Captain Jack, Angel and Jake, Brad's mother Elizabeth and Bailey's mother Ellen are all totally believable and lovable even though some of them are up to no good. The well-thought out plot flows believably to the story's happy ending which readers everywhere will adore. In fact, Mary Carter will gain lots of new fans with this wonderful, immensely readable story.
