I loved Gabby’s transformation into the Mystic Warrior and think Teer was especially creative in building on her evolving powers against a backdrop of loss and resilience. Mateo is such an amazing narrator with a sense of duty despite a natural self-doubt for someone his age. Teer keeps the pacing just right, with action-packed sequences and world-building that enhance rather than take over the story's intensity. Overall, this second book in the League Warrior series is a beautifully written and immersive read.
