Honesty and obedience lay the foundations for children to grow into trustworthy, healthy adults. Introduce the importance of honesty to your child through Omolola Agboola's The Valley of Achor. It is a cute children's picture book that transports us to ancient Israel. After the death of the Israelite leader Moses, the Lord appointed Joshua as the new leader. At that time, the Israelites wandered in the wilderness and fought many enemies. God always helped them win. At one time, the Israelites had to fight people from a city called Jericho. The Lord had warned them not to take anything from the city for themselves. But one Israelite man named Achor took some silver and gold and hid them under his tent when no one was looking. Would Achor's disobedience and betrayal kindle God's anger against the Israelites? Grab a copy to find out.

I was immersed right from the first page, eager to know more about the ancient Israelites and their relationship with God. Omolola Agboola gives an important lesson: never take what you have been told not to so that you don't get yourself and everyone else in trouble. This lesson is presented through an exhilarating adventure that will grip the attention of young minds. The layout is creative. The text is enclosed in colorful background frames that resemble windowpanes. Vibrant illustrations by Windel Eborlas complement the story. There is even an image of Israelite elders and Joshua praying to God before the Ark of the Covenant. All the illustrations provide an excellent visual presentation of events. It is relatively short-paced and easy to read, and the plot is fluid. I liked Agboola's simple, clear, and straight-to-the-point writing style, which is ideal for young readers. If you want to teach children about abstract qualities like honesty and obedience in a fun and interactive way, The Valley of Achor is just the book!

This is my review.

Truly a book precise and detailed to the letter. it inspires the tenets of integrity and character both individually and in the society at large. The content is also very rich in history and culture as it enables the child understand the precedence of an existing God and it's ways in dealing with his people , by instilling social, cultural and religious values within the environment he has created. I must commend the writer Omolola Agboola for her simplicity and precision in writing this piece , this shows that Indeed you have a wealth of experience when it comes to dealing with the child. other factors I have seen in this book that caught my attention are the quality of the book , the size , the letters boldly written and the picture illustrations which I believe will attract the readers delight. Surely , "The valley of Anchor" a must read for all children.
