The Wolf's Secret is the first book in the Lunar Legends series by Stephanie Mirro. Liam McDonnell and Rosalind Drake were mortal enemies before they'd even met. Rose is a Lunar Witch, running for dear life from her own coven. After a painful fall, Rose uses her magick to transform herself into a wolf while just inside Skyline Pack territory. Alpha Liam finds Rose unconscious during a pack run, nurses her back to health, and feels a pull on his heart the likes of which he has never known before. Over the following month, Rose and Liam fall hopelessly in love, but on the night of the following full moon when he is to declare Rose as his fated mate, jealousy rears its ugly head in the form of Amanda, who reveals publicly that Rose is a witch. After being banished from the pack, Rose once again finds herself alone, not only fighting for her life against Josef but also against the angry members of the Skyline Pack.
This is truly one of the most unusual love stories I have ever read, and I am so glad that it made its way into my hands. Liam and Rose's love is so pure, and only hatred caused by a curse could ever tear them apart. The heroine of the story was still recovering from the death of her parents, while the hero had been forced to kill his own father one year earlier. I felt every moment of joy that Liam and Rose spent together and I spent much of the literary journey smiling until my tears took over. Not only is The Wolf's Secret one of the most tumultuous introductions in any of my selected series but Stephanie Mirro's imagination and unique writing style is second to none. I cannot wait to read the second installment of Lunar Legends and recommend this amazing series to fans of the paranormal who are over the age of 15 years due to some sexual content. Mirro's wonderful paranormal romance has made its way onto the top shelf of my very best in literary fiction.
