Till Father’s Found by Jackson Adams is a novel set against the backdrop of a distant historical period with political turbulence and wars. But the author has done a remarkable job in creating a riveting story within the context of an almost forgotten history. Two young men enter Oxford University to study theology, but their motivations are quite different, one from the other, and it is in this context that the reader is introduced to some of the great fictional characters, watching with interest as one embarks on the journey to trace his father while the order devotes himself to the pursuits of reforming Christianity. The title of the book seems to pose a condition, “until father is found,” but which father will the two young men be looking for? Watch for whom each of them will take up arms!
Adams’ Till Father’s Found is a classic work, a novel with fascinating characters and a very rich historical setting. Theobald and James will most definitely attract the sympathy of readers. The author’s language is very crisp, and he has the gift of drawing readers in with vivid descriptions and witty dialogue. The humor is pleasantly sharp, and the conflict of loyalties makes the story even more engaging. This is a captivating story modeled around legendary, historical figures, and one that will allow readers to travel to a distant past. Aside from enjoying the beautiful story, readers will have serious questions about life, humanity, and God, or they will be compelled to formulate their own answers to the questions. A highly recommended inspirational novel!
