“Time Management for Freelancers: A Self-Paced Course for Busy Professionals” by Nicole Y. Adams is a book for freelancers wanting to gain control of their workplace productivity and ultimately to increase their profitability. Adams is a certified German/English translator and public relations consultant. As the title implies, this book functions as an interactive course with a virtual instructor asking questions, giving practical solutions and administering a quiz. Assessing the efficiency of your current practices could unearth some self-imposed excuses. The chapter “Managing Your Workload” entails an in-depth look at email -- a big time waster if not managed properly. “Time Management for Freelancers” has 34 pages packed with the SPIRIT goal-setting system and the four components of efficiency. Freelancers completing the individual action plan will enjoy a stress-free, productive work/life balance.
Adams’s creative, smart, pragmatic tips are excellent. She has made an indelible impression. I will reconsider my use of time and resources. I enjoyed the classic anecdote illustrating the importance of delegation. The book emphasizes the fact that wise choices lead to proficient organization. The layout makes it easy to turn to a specific chapter and read the short but informative lesson quickly. “Time Management for Freelancers” is highly recommended.
