Tinker Bee by Erin Beth Liles is an adorable storybook for kids. Tinker Bee loved fairies, she loved fluttering like fairies, and wearing fancy dresses like them. Everyone wanted her to behave like a normal bee, especially her parents. But Tinker Bee did not want to be a gathering bee, she wanted to be a fairy bee. When all the bees were trying to build a honeycomb, Tinker Bee's honeycomb looked more like a mushroom. One day the bees find out that someone is picking their best pansy patch. They have to do something about it or else they won't have enough honey for the winter. Will Tinker Bee help them in saving the pansy patch? Well, you need to read the story to learn the answers.
The book is delightful, and informative and educational at the same time. The author gives a lot of information about the importance of bees in honey production. The lives of the bees, with a little bit of magic and fairy dust thrown in, will capture the attention of young readers. The illustrations are lively and make the story and the scenes come alive. Kids learn a lot of new words associated with bees through this story. Books like this are good for children to help them learn new things in a fun way. It's a good book for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries, and parents can use it for bedtime story telling too.
