Sophia Byron has written a sizzling romance with a nice mystery in its plot. Touched by a Phoenix has several descriptive love scenes that also emphasise the emotions and fears that Brad and Alexis have for each other, based on their personal and business problems. The author writes very well and I like how she deals with a particular problem Alexis kept to herself. The characters have strong personalities that worked for the plot relating to the mystery, but there were times when I felt Alexis was too overbearing, forceful and unrealistic. The mystery is suspenseful and kept me guessing who the villains were, but its conclusion left a cliff-hanger. Overall, Touched by a Phoenix by Sophia Byron is an entertaining novel that women will enjoy.

No doubt about it, Touched by a Phoenix is a hefty offering of sizzling romance. Sophia Byron serves up a first class love story with an Alpha male and an Alpha female that romance lovers will find hard to resist. Brad Scott is the son of wealthy parents, tall, a genius, and an all-round nice guy, but with the record and reputation of a playboy. Alexandria Saunders is a beautiful, strong, smart, redhead whose father happens to own the company that she and Brad work for. At first glance, these two characters might seem a little too perfect to garner much sympathy, but neither of their lives has been as perfect as they appear on the surface. They are both emotionally crippled and Alexis, in particular, has a very dark incident in her past that she must overcome before she can free herself to love again. But this is only part of the story. There is also espionage, cutting edge science and some very high stakes business maneuvering in Touched by a Phoenix, enough to make it a good read for fans of several genres.

Sophia Byron does a great job developing a scenario where these two characters can fall in love, and be strong and vulnerable at the same time. The writing, supporting characters, and setting all contribute to the plot and lead to a satisfying conclusion. Touched by a Phoenix will delight those who seek burning romance as well as those who like a little action with their love story.

However, Brad is working on a very sensitive project for the company and, if it ends up in the wrong hands, could mean disaster. As a series of strange events begins to occur, it’s clear someone else is after the technology. Will Brad and Alexandria survive through it all, or is the project doomed to fall into terrorist hands?

The synopsis of Touched by a Phoenix was very intriguing. I do love a bit of suspense with my romance so I was very eager to read the book. I loved the character of Alexandria, also called Alexis. She was a strong woman, but I felt she crumbled too easily to Brad’s advances. I suppose I would have liked to see more suspense interspersed with the first half of the book. I loved the romance aspect between the pair and anyone with a desire for fiery displays of desire will definitely enjoy this book. The second half of the book is where all the action comes in. It was certainly a unique plot line and well-written. Touched by a Phoenix by Sophia Byron is romance and action all in one.

The novel was a delight to read. Sophia Byron has done a great job with this amazing romantic thriller. The story is compelling with great sizzling chemistry between Brad and Alexis. With Alexis’ past haunting their relationship and Brad’s new development causing him trouble, the novel has the right mix of romance, suspense, thrill and mystery to it. All in all, a perfect read for anyone who adores true love and a hero who is willing to do anything and everything to save his love!

Romance, passion, intelligence, and intrigue

This book broke the mold! It defies genre labeling. The story of Brad and Alexis is at turns heartbreaking, and passionate. They are living breathing, complex people who leap off the page. Sophia the heroine is an intelligent woman with a high powered career. She could be portrayed as a one dimensional ball buster but instead has all these layers vulnerability, passion, humor, and of course a dash of the ball buster. Brad her counterpart is also a great complex character intelligent, witty and full of heart.

This novel was many great books wrapped into one. It has the intelligence factor, the intrigue factor, a splash of romance, and the spice of some great love scenes.
The sparks fly off the page as soon as Brad and Sophia meet. The heat threatening to consume them both. The question is can Sophia beat her demons, and can Brad accept them?

This book has it all it was a great read. The incredible talent of this author made me feel as if I was leaving two good friends behind when I turned the last page. The exiting news is that I can revisit them in the sequel!

This unique story is hard to pin down into a single category. It's got that sweeping romance feel to it thanks to a hero who will sacrifice everything, including himself, to save the woman he loves. But it also delivers non-stop action and suspense thanks to the cutting edge science and espionage. There's danger and intrigue, tons of action, seriously cool tech, and plenty of humor all packaged up in this amazing love story that defies all odds.

I have a soft spot for relationships between damaged souls and the connection between Brad and Alexis really drives the story. The chemistry between them is truly delicious and leads to all sorts of very yummy erotic scenes. It also leads to the creation of the most advanced AI weapon ever imagined. Sophia Byron does a great job making the dual POV work here, allowing you to really see inside their heads throughout the story. Sci-fi fans will be mesmerized by Brad's genius, while romance fans will be reaching for the tissue box over his love for Alexis. The writing is fantastic, bringing the emotions through so that you feel the story. You'll laugh, cry, hold your breath, and above all feel the passion between these two as their story unfolds. This is one world I'll be revisiting again soon.

Sophia Bryon seamlessly blends passion with danger in her debut novel, Touched by a Phoenix. I don’t read many romance novels so it takes a unique story to get me past the first chapter, and the fact that I read this entire novel in a day speaks volumes as to the strength of the author’s writing and complexities of the plot. This reads like a spy novel with a twist of romance! The only disappointment is this is a stand only novel, and we won’t get to read about Alexis and Brad again.

Can’t wait to read Sophia Bryon’s next novel, and I hope she continues to follow the same military intelligence genre.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I enthusiastically read the book of lovely young writer Sophia Byron, her book "Touched by a Phoenix" was read in one breath, especially recommended to those who like erotic, sexy, romance stories mixed with action . One of the top romance books I have read in a long time. The story about Alexis, who had lost any hopes of a relationship and lives only for work and finds no place for love in her life and about Brad Scott, a guy with a wealthy family, playboy with high IQ who has never had a problem with the girls, but after meeting with Alexis, he sees no one else but her. I love the chemistry these two shared and the feeling of true love between them.The story of how people going nowhere found each other at the right time and right place. It’s a wonderful blend of passion and danger which we’re always craving Despite past Alexis he want have children, but bring up a child alone, and the donor she wants to become is Brad, but he has his own conditions in this regard. The characters are engaging and complex, adding energy and passion to the emerging drama, trust quickly grows deeper underground as their attachment grows stronger. It was very interesting to read about each of these characters and what they think and what they are ready for the love salvation , each of them is an individual, but still love takes up over them. This is the first book I read from this author and I have to say that she did a fantastic job with the story line. I was completely and utterly glued to my kindle until I finished reading this book. In general a great tale for those who adore true love and a hero who is ready to do anything and everything to save his love! I will look forward to more from this author, can’t wait to read Sophia Byron’s next novel.

One of the sexiest and hottest romance books I’ve read. Absolutely Amazing! Really strong characters. Alexis comes across a bit too strong willed and at first glance, you’d think she had the perfect life but as her feelings for Brad grow and she finally let him in, revealing a painful past, I couldn’t help but feel compassion and even related to some of her insecurities and understood why she was so standoffish at first.

Brad, what can I say…sexy, charming, and intelligent…what a true gentleman! It was sweet to see him vulnerable and unsure of himself at times when falling for Alexis and figuring out how to deal with her strengths and weaknesses. Watching the two grow, learn to set-aside their pasts, and then fight to stay together, it was impossible not to fall in love with both of them.

Everything I really want to say would be spoilers and it’s way too good of a read for that. It starts out sweet and ends with a bang. Let’s just say you might find yourself holding your breath and in need of oxygen and I had to stop and get tissues. There’s a lot more to the story than the just the romance aspect; a lot of action and suspense that was incredible. Add in Rescue One’s creation and you have totally awesome!

A must read for anyone who enjoys true love and steamy romance mixed with just the right amount of family…not to mention a whole lot of kick-butt action. What girl doesn’t want a hero that would move heaven and earth to save her? Touched by a Phoenix was well written, full of attitude and personality, sucking you right into the story until you became a part of it. The further along I got, the harder it became to put it down, until I gave up and just finished it. I really liked how Mrs. Byron was able to incorporate both Brad’s and Alexis’s point of views into the book…it was great to read what each of them was thinking or feeling without ever getting lost in who was who. Incredible read!!!

As a fan of both sci-fi and erotica, I was pleasantly surprised when "Touched by a Phoenix" delivered both. Although seemingly perfect at first encounter, the main characters Alexis and Brad clearly have demons to overcome and such challenges combined with the risks of their day job makes for a fascinating story. However, I must say that the plot’s ultimate intrigue for me came in the form of Rescue One – the very concept of an organically engineered autonomous aircraft is riveting, to say the least.

No doubt about it, Ms. Byron will have all readers on edge waiting for the next installment.

Wow! This was a very long book, but well worth the read! It didn't even seem that long until I realized how long it took when I finished the ending. I would literally read this at the end of the night and wake up reading just a little bit more. This was by far the best romance science fiction novel I've read in awhile. To me, this book was like a 007 on another level, and the romance enhanced even more. The author detailed the characters and plot very nicely, allowing me to visually imagine the scenes. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

Based on the cover I expected hot and it was HOT! Based on the description I expected Touched By A Phoenix to be an elaborate and entangled love affair…and I got exactly that! I’m not sure how to describe it other than to say it’s a very unique novel. It crosses a lot of different genre’s and has something for everyone. It has a beautiful and at times a heart wrenching love story (that Romeo & Juliet kind of love story), a bit of a 007 feel but then it has that Avengers kick-butt and take names later attitude, a little bit of sci-fi, mystery and intrigue, and a whole lot of suspense. Add to it, some really hot sex and I’m not exactly sure what you get other than the most dramatically intense novel I think I have ever read. It has taken the top spot as my #1 favorite book of all times!!!

The beginning lays the foundation for the sweetest love story you would ever want to read so you get lulled into this false expectation of the perfect little love story with Alexis being emotionally damaged and Brad being emotionally crippled…two broken souls seeking the other half of themselves but when they find it, boy does the passion kick in! Alexis has a secret in her past that fuels her own insecurities about herself, love, and relationships. She had buried it deep and shared it with no one…that is until her love for Brad outweighed her fear. That part was difficult to read (mostly because it happens every day and no one can seem to stop or change it), but Ms. Byron handled the situation in the most delicate and tasteful manner. I give her a lot of credit and respect for that. Brad…well my heart broke for him when he found out and didn’t know how to handle the secret at first and how it changed his perspective! In that moment, he became the man he was meant to be. The love and respect he showed afterwards had me grabbing the tissues. By that point, I was a goner…completely in love with both Brad and Alexis and totally invested in their lives!

The closer Brad & Alexis became, the more intense the threats became. I’d read a chapter and take a short break trying to figure out who was behind the espionage/sabotage then be right back at it for the next chapter and as soon as I thought I had it figured out…something else would happen! A word to the wise, if you don’t put it down after chapter 4, then don’t plan on getting any sleep that night! At one point, I was actually holding my breath thinking that John would die before he and Brad could save Alexis. Thank goodness for coffee and chocolate the next day!!!

The details are absolutely fantastic. It reads so much like a movie that you can visualize it in your head. OMG, maybe they will make a movie out of it and Rescue One will really come to life…I would so love to see that!!! She is the sci-fi bit and incredibly awesome! It’s the first novel I’ve read in a long while that contained that omniscient/dual POV. I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed knowing everything everyone was feeling and/or thinking.

I normally wait to read a book if I know there is more to come, mostly because when I really like the story, I need the full fix. Waiting until next summer to find out who the mastermind is will be torture. If I had to pick a downfall, that would it because everything else was fantastic! I will say that Ms. Bryon did a phenomenal job and ended it really well so it could serve as a standalone. I just don’t know who is behind the treachery and that will drive me nuts. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Loved it so much that I ordered the paperback too but that will be put away and never touched (no pun intended).

I can’t believe this is Sophia Byron’s debut novel! She writes like a pro! The characters where wonderfully executed with many layers when you look closer. An action packed story with steamy romantic scenes and great spy gear I was totally hooked. Not everything is as it seems at first glance and as more is revealed you’re pulled further and further into the world until you never want to leave. The characters seem so put together at first and then the armour is chipped away and they’re just the same as you and I only more interesting to read about. I wish there were going to be a series on these two they were wonderful.

Brad and Alexis seem like they could be the perfect couple however Alexis is plagued by past demons and needs to deal with her own inner turmoil, when these are revealed it’s understandable why she was quite stand-off-ish. This steamy novel will have you on your edge of you seat, packed with action and some sexy scenes to. The story is nice and long but would have liked it to be longer, as it’s a standalone and I wanted more. Hopefully Byron will bring back Brad and Alexis some other time?

The novel follows Brad and Alexis a dynamic couple who really bring the tale to life. We see them battle against the dangers put before them. A tale full of action, dangle, love and espionage, what more could you ask for. While the couple have electric chemistry Alexis is battling deeper daemons and that’s stopping them from being able to more on. While they’re lives may have seemed nice on the surface, they always say don’t judge a book by its cover. It’s a wonderful blend of passion, lust and danger which we’re always craving. A delicious story, I will look forward to more from this author.

An epic romance book with plenty of action and story line. The author has a way with tension and suspense. The chemistry between Alexis and Brad is a blast to read about. I love "emotionally damaged" types. The erotic scenes are spot on. Perfect and plenty. It's one book that ends well (no spoilers.) It's all complete in one which is a great change from those books that drag out over several small books. I wish it was just a tad bit longer which is why I gave it four stars and not five. If the author does another installment I would be thrilled. One of the top romance books I have read in a long time. If you like erotic, sexy, romance stories mixed with action and great writing this is a must read. Check it out!
