Trail Through Time is the fifth book in the Liberty Valley Love series by Josie Malone. A time travel tale of two lovers from different eras, the story follows Kyle Morgan and Nina Armstrong. Nina was a survivor of a horrible attack and life wasn’t getting any better for her. After she lost a friend, Nina was riddled with guilt. A serial killer was hot on her heels, ready to strike at the right moment and claim her life. Luckily for her, an old-time cowboy was ready to be her savior and champion. Kyle Morgan claimed to be from a different time and place. Battle-scarred and a true southern gentleman, Kyle was ready to do whatever it took to protect Nina. Before they knew it, sparks flew, and they started to fall in love. In the meantime, could Kyle keep Nina safe?
Author Josie Malone did it again with Trail Through Time. Usually, time travel romances don’t do it for me. The stories are either not detailed enough or, they are too detailed for me to fully enjoy them. This novel, however, was a completely different story. I loved Kyle and the way he talked. His dialogues were fun and witty with the charm of the 1880s, and I loved how he interacted with Nina. Nina was a survivor, and she was no damsel in distress. While she enjoyed Kyle’s attention, she was strong enough even though she had survivor’s guilt. The connection these two had was instantaneous, but they took their time to get to know each other. The dialogues were fun, and the pace was perfect. Josie Malone added action when it was needed, romance when it was required, and mystery when the story needed it. I would highly recommend this whole series.
