Transformative Nutrition is categorized as a nutrition book but is so much more than that; it is about experiencing the pain of hitting rock bottom and working your way back to a fully balanced life through transformation. The author, Michael Tamez, takes you with him as he conducts his own personal journey from a heartrending beginning to a joyful and healthy life that he continues to transform to reach the next level of life. Transformative Nutrition is not just another book about diets as in the words of the author Michael Tamez: “Diets don’t work!” Tamez delves into more than just diet. He touches on all aspects of life: emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical. Mr. Tamez maintains that in order for a person to have true success, they must transform all these areas. He then proceeds to give the reader a map and other resources to get started in living a full, healthy and balanced life.
The first thought that this reviewer had was, “Oh no, another book about nutrition and what to eat," but reading the introduction, the reader is drawn in in spite of themselves as Mr. Tamez described his personal experience and the beginning of his journey of transformation. This book is so much more than another nutrition book, and more about a real, intense personal journey. This captured the interest of this reader and made them want to read more. As other readers read through the book, they will feel hopeful that, yes, anyone at any stage of their life can be transformed into the person that they always dreamed they could be. “Balance is whole body,” states Mr. Tamez. He helps the reader to see that by transforming each area of their life they can take control of their life.
