An outstanding book on coaching from both a theoretical and practical perspective is Triple Win Leadership Coaching: The Coach’s Guide to More Impact, More Coaching, and More Clients by Will Linssen. The book is full of strategies and tips supported by real coaching stories that will be invaluable as a guide to coaches and leaders looking to coach their teams. It also provides ideas for those interested in building their coaching careers, as well as how they can be more effective in working with their clients. For a reader who is interested in coaching, Will Linssen reminds us of the challenges and stresses involved in finding the right way to coach their client with measurable results. It may be evident to see qualitative progress in a coaching relationship, but can it be measured in a way that there is real progress? In addition, he brings up the issue that not all want to be coached, and have been requested to receive coaching without buy-in from the person who is being coached.

The author discusses the barriers that occur in the progress of the leader (who is being coached) sometimes having issues with the length of time they are being coached. There are so many elements, including purpose, commitment, focus, structure, perception, and leveraging challenge, that affect the effectiveness of coaching. The hope is for a triple for the leader and the coach over the long term. Triple Win Leadership Coaching by Will Linssen is a valuable book for both veterans and new coaches beginning their careers. The stories and actual replies of his clients to the questions posed bring the concepts to life and become important for consideration. As with any book of this type, coaches will find the pearls that will bring them greater effectiveness in their relationships. For coaching leaders, many practical techniques will be valuable for them. This is one of the best coaching books I have found in my search to become a better coach and leader for my team.
