For a fifteen-year-old, Noah Jordan had a lot riding on his shoulders. He grew up having visions he could not understand. His grandparents, who had special gifts and lived near an enchanted forest in Michigan, believed he was special and wanted to nurture him. But his father wanted none of it. He preferred that Noah follow in his older brother’s footsteps, a rising star athlete, whom he clearly loved more than he did Noah. After experiencing a strange vision that leaves him unsettled, Noah heads to Michigan, despite his father’s disapproval, to get help from his grandparents. Soon, he is presented with an ancestral relic and finds himself faced with a call of destiny. He must brave an interdimensional journey that sends him to ancient, powerful kingdoms and sets him up against a savage alien race in a perilous quest to save two worlds. Does Noah have what it takes to tread the path fate has carved out for him? Find out in C. W. Phillips’ Stormbringer: A Relic of Lost Atlantis.
This page turner will seize you by the scruff of your neck, propel you forward, and remain relentless, only loosening its grip after the final word. C. W. Phillips' Stormbringer is a must-read for lovers of young adult coming-of-age epic fantasy novels flavored with adventure, thrills, drama, edge-of-the-seat suspense, plot twists, cliffhangers, and more. Weaving an ingenious plot, Phillips yanked me away from the ordinary and set me adrift in a universe of endless, magnificent imagination. The evocative cinematic depictions made me feel as though I was right beside the exciting, dynamic cast, closely following them as the scenes unfolded. I got swept away in a whirlwind of family drama, tough choices, friendship, loyalty, survival, sacrifices, secrets, mythical power, and more. I appreciate the evident research that went into the mythic and ancient world history. The lively character-driven conversations, entwined with witty banter and introspection, gave depth to the cast’s conflicts, intricate emotions, and complex traits. I loved this book.
