True Ghost Stories and Hauntings, Volume 3 by Barb Shadow is a paranormal non-fiction collection featuring over 150 chilling accounts of ghostly encounters and unexplained phenomena. From eerie spirits woken by unearthing human bones to sinister entities with no faces, these stories dive into the terrifying unknown. Shadow, a seasoned paranormal investigator, curates these supernatural experiences to give readers a glimpse of what may lurk on a plane that we don’t fully understand. Each story presents a spine-tingling reminder that the dead might still have something to say and it’s up to us to listen closely for the stories they're trying to tell us.

Barb Shadow’s ability to compile a vast array of paranormal stories and still keep each one unique and compelling speaks of her expertise in writing and curation and the organization and careful selection of diverse and spine-chilling tales cover every kind of haunting, communication, and strange occurrence you could imagine. Despite the varied accounts, Shadow’s authentic and confident voice as a paranormal investigator ties the collection together seamlessly with insightful commentary and subtle interjections of wisdom and charm. There’s also a keen knack for building tension and suspense, using vivid descriptions of eerie settings and ghostly apparitions to transport readers into the heart of the paranormal in a way that certainly leaves lingering chills. I found a lot of interesting unexplained phenomena to consider in ways I never had before. Many of the stories carry strong emotional ties outside of the paranormal, exploring the fear, grief, and curiosity that often accompany encounters with the unknown, which is something readers of all genres can relate to. Overall, True Ghost Stories and Hauntings, Volume 3 is a fabulous collection of well-curated and interesting stories for paranormal enthusiasts to enjoy, and I’d certainly recommend it.
