Twins of the Eclipse is an action-packed fantasy novella written by Christopher Woods. Seventeen-year-old Cyrus runs away from every chance at responsibility and abhors his duties as an Elite Knight and prince of the realm of the Chaos. Already nagged by his twin sister, Octavia, Cyrus fears another responsibility coming his way when his father, Emperor Julius, assigns him as the caretaker of a mysterious young prisoner named Celine. However, Cyrus is soon enamored by Celine's charm. He believes her story of seeking vengeance for the murder of her mother, Lady Mae of the realm of the Order. Contrary to his father's wishes, Cyrus and Octavia help Celine break out of prison, and the little group heads for the lands of the Order as an ancient evil returns with the intention of world domination.
Filled with action, romance, mystery, and intrigue, Twins of the Eclipse is a wild rollercoaster of a ride you don't want to miss. Author Christopher Woods takes little time to immerse you in a fleshed-out world full of magic and lore, putting you in the midst of the action from the get-go. The plot moves at a fast pace, and the narrative is short and crisp without a single dull moment. The characters are colorful and vibrant, and their spunky personalities shine through the pages. I found the action scenes vivid and filled with tension and plenty of drama. Overall, I had an absolute blast reading Twins of the Eclipse. Anyone who enjoys well-written young adult action-adventure fantasy should give this one a go.
