Twisted Seconds of Fate by Ashton Broukes is loaded with tension and anxiety from beginning to end. Kate and her young six-year-old niece, Stephanie, are being chased by Jimmy, a man who has killed everyone in his way. Diane was Kate’s sister and Stephanie’s mother, and is one of Jimmy’s victims. Jimmy wants something that Diane took from him and will not stop until he gets it back. Brock is Stephanie’s father, but he had no idea that when Diane left him she was pregnant with his child. Kate is scared and alone, and believes the only safe thing to do is to find Brock and leave his daughter in his care. Kate believes it best to pretend that she is a lawyer and does not mention that Diane is really her sister and Stephanie is really her niece. Brock cannot understand why he is attracted to Kate and feels as though he knows her, but is thrilled to find out he has a daughter. Unfortunately, Jimmy has other ideas that include kidnapping and murdering everyone involved to get his property back. Brock and Kate must work together against this madman. Brock is a rich businessman and he uses all of his friends and resources to try to stay a step ahead of Jimmy.
Twisted Seconds of Fate is a really good, nail biting, suspenseful, fast-moving story. Ashton Broukes has written a gripping, exciting novel that will keep you reading until the very thrilling last pages. Twisted Seconds of Fate has all the elements of a great book: suspense, excitement, romance, and innocence, with a well written plot and characters that are extremely likeable. I would really like to see this made into a movie. Don’t pass up reading Twisted Seconds of Fate; you will not be disappointed.
